Cat and Carl’s Villa Montalvo wedding was a long, long time coming. Like many throughout 2021, Cat and Carl had originally planned for their wedding a year prior. And while they did have a smaller, more intimate celebration, their big party was pushed to August of 2021. The Montalvo Arts Center is a stunning and expansive property in the South Bay Area, located in Saratoga. The Villa itself, where the dinner reception and tea ceremony was held sits at the top of the site overlooking the Grand Lawn below. The ceremony took place at the Love Temple, a structure inspired by classical architecture. After the ceremony, Cat and Carl changed into traditional Vietnamese ao giai for the Tea Ceremony. Dinner and dancing were all held outdoors with concerns of Covid still looming. The dinner tables on the patio deck were beautifully decorated with linens from BBJ La Tavola and floral designs by Petite Petal Co. The planning and design were done by Charmed Events. After the speeches and dinner, catered by Le’s Kitchen, Cat and Carl lead the way to the dance floor, stopping off at the Champagne tower for a toast and then cutting the cake provided by Flower Flour. The guests watched as Cat and Carl shared their first dance and then got to enjoy some desserts into the night including ice cream by Sugar Mama. While Cat and Carl’s Villa Montalvo wedding happened later than initially planned, seeing everyone celebrate together makes me think that if anything, the delay made the evening that much more emotionally impactful for all involved!
