Golden hour couple portrait at Stonetree Estate wedding San Rafael with romantic lighting

Stonetree Estate Wedding

Stephanie + Anthony

Stephanie and Anthony’s Stonetree Estate wedding was such a joy to photograph! The couple chose to split their celebration between two stunning locations—a ceremony at St. Vincent School for Boys followed by a reception at Wedgewood Stonetree in San Rafael.

The morning started with Stephanie getting ready alongside her closest friends at the AC Hotel in downtown San Rafael. They all wore matching floral robes, which made for some beautiful getting-ready shots. When Stephanie first put on her wedding dress—an intricate lace gown with delicate beading and a gorgeous train—her friends’ reaction was priceless. Pure excitement and joy all around.

During this time, one of my favorite moments was watching Stephanie’s mother help with the final dress details. These quiet mother-daughter moments are always so special to capture. Meanwhile, Anthony got ready with his groomsmen nearby.

Later, the ceremony at St. Vincent School for Boys was beautiful. The architecture and natural light in the space created ideal conditions for photography. Anthony’s face when he saw Stephanie walking down the aisle was everything—pure happiness and love. One moment that really touched me was when Stephanie surprised everyone by singing Ave Maria during the ceremony. It was such a beautiful and unexpected moment that added something truly special to their vows. Throughout the entire ceremony, their joy was contagious.

After the ceremony, we headed to Wedgewood Stonetree for the reception. This venue never disappoints when it comes to photo opportunities. Furthermore, the modern architecture and outdoor spaces provide endless backdrops, and during golden hour, the property’s grounds are simply stunning.

Before the reception began, Angella Floral Design had created gorgeous arrangements that perfectly complemented Stonetree Estate’s rustic aesthetic. As a result, the combination of beautiful florals and the venue’s design created an elegant atmosphere for dinner and dancing.
From start to finish, the reception was filled with great energy. First, Stephanie and Anthony’s first dance was sweet and intimate, followed by touching parent dances. Once the dance floor opened up to all guests, the party really took off. There were fun props, non-stop dancing, and so much laughter throughout the night.

Ultimately, what stood out most about Stephanie and Anthony’s Stonetree Estate wedding was how present they were for every moment. They took time to really soak in each part of their day—from the ceremony to their couple portraits to celebrating with family and friends.
In conclusion, Stonetree Estate continues to be one of my favorite venues to photograph. The combination of beautiful spaces, gorgeous natural light, and professional staff makes it such a pleasure to work at. Stephanie and Anthony’s celebration was a perfect example of how magical a wedding at this venue can be.
