Hi there! My name is Duy (sounds like yē) and I'm a wedding photographer with roots in architecture and design. I spent my college years and most of my 20s pursuing a career as an architect, earning a Masters of Architecture from Harvard before moving to San Francisco where I unexpectedly discovered my passion for photography. After realizing that my love for visual storytelling greatly outgrew my love of architecture, I decided to take a leap and pursue photography full time, immersing myself in the joy of preserving the legacy of everyday people for future generations.

The key to timelessness is emotional connection. I strive to create images that are both visually and emotionally captivating from now to beyond your golden anniversary. With this goal in mind, I primarily focus on mood, context and expression.

Being in front of the camera is not the most natural thing for most people. Trust in the process and my determination to make you look your best on camera is the cornerstone to great photography.
Engagement sessions offer a way to build both comfort and trust and also helps you better understand the process so your wedding portraits can be efficient and beautiful. As a bonus, you get some awesome portraits together that you can use as Save-the-Dates and Guestbooks for your wedding!
I also offer Destination Engagement Sessions for non-local clients and travel-lovers! Travel fees are dependent on the destination.
Engagement Sessions in San Francisco or Napa/Sonoma last approximately one to two hours and can be scheduled around golden hour during on a weekday. Weekends can be accommodated pending availability

COPYRIGHT vs PRINT RIGHTS
Copyright, which I retain after delivery, is what allows me to use the photographs for my portfolio, blog, online publications, etc. Print rights, which you receive, allows you to use the files delivered to print at your own vendor or at home
HIGH RES FILES
You will receive all edited photographs via digital download. The files may be cropped for composition but all images will be high quality images suitable for printing without watermarks. Typically, couples can expect 75 photographs for every hour of coverage
EDITING vs RETOUCHING
All photographs will be color-corrected and toned along with basic edits such as contrast and exposure adjustments. Localized edits such as cloning, skin retouching and other complex retouching are reserved for print orders and albums.
All photographs are delivered in both color and black & white.
